About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and develop our company’s engineering organization, which includes software engineers, data engineers, and infrastructure/platform engineers. This role involves establishing strong engineering standards for system design, code quality, testing, and deployment, while fostering a culture that values both operational stability and thoughtful innovation. The Director will mentor engineers, help develop future technical leaders, and own the overall technical architecture of the company’s technology ecosystem, ensuring systems are designed for reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Key responsibilities include guiding architecture decisions across ERP systems, integrations, data platforms, and customer-facing applications, as well as evaluating new technologies and architectural patterns. The role also entails leading the technical strategy for ERP and core operational systems modernization, evaluating build vs. buy decisions, and guiding teams through complex system migrations. Collaboration with Product Managers to focus engineering resources on high-value initiatives, ensuring timely and quality delivery, and overseeing development pipelines are crucial. Additionally, the Director will ensure the reliability and performance of core infrastructure, establish monitoring and incident management processes, and champion strong cybersecurity practices. Cross-functional collaboration with the Director of Technology and business leaders to align priorities and ensure technology solutions support business goals is essential.

Requirements

  • Strong background in software engineering or systems architecture.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP platforms and system integrations.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to balance reliability and innovation in technology organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure development work is well-scoped, well-estimated, and delivered on schedule.
  • Implement engineering processes that improve predictability, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Oversee development pipelines, release management, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of core infrastructure including servers, networking, cloud environments, and system integrations.
  • Establish monitoring, incident management, and operational response processes.
  • Ensure strong cybersecurity practices and system resiliency.
  • Partner with the Director of Technology to align engineering priorities with business needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to ensure technology solutions support operational goals.
  • Work closely with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs and system constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
