Director Of Engineering
About The Position
The Director of Engineering forms part of the Executive Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel or Resort. The Director oversees a team of Engineering and Maintenance specialists responsible for all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care and parking areas. Responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees.
Requirements
- Three to five years of previous employment in a Director of Engineering position.
- Five years previous management experience in hotel or building engineering maintenance.
- Solid project management skills.
- Evidence a strong work ethic, adaptability and flexibility and leadership skills.
- Either a Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering) or CEOE – Certified Engineering Operations Executive from the Hotel and motel Hospitality Association, Building Owners Management Institution (BOMI) designation, Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facility Management Administrator (FMA) or Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA).
- Some travel is required for training, conferences and special events.

- Managing a complex with multiple business units (hotel, residential, club, and commercial space) is preferred.
