About The Position

BellatRx is looking for a Director of Engineering who is ready to take on a high-impact leadership role at the center of our business. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, this position is responsible for providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and strong leadership to our engineering organization. This is not just a technical leadership role. It is an opportunity to influence the future of the company by helping define engineering strategy, driving innovation, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate is both a visionary and a doer, someone who can think strategically, lead people effectively, and bring engineering excellence to every stage of the business, from concept to customer implementation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
Strong background in Mechanical, electrical, automation, and integration engineering (Machine design background).
Experience leading teams and managing performance in a technical environment.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Proven ability to collaborate across departments and build strong working relationships.
A commitment to continuous learning, innovation, safety, and quality.
Working knowledge of French and strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Actively contribute to BellatRx’s short-, medium-, and long-term strategic planning.
Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with company objectives.
Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Aftermarket Service to align engineering priorities with market needs, production capabilities, and customer support.
Establish and maintain engineering best practices, standards, and processes.
Oversee engineering budgets and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of departmental resources.
Identify and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, and cross-functional collaboration.
Lead, mentor, and support the engineering leadership team.
Build a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Oversee recruitment, training, development, and retention of engineering talent.
Set clear goals, expectations, and performance measures for the department.
Develop strong internal capabilities through coaching, training programs, and ongoing feedback.
Provide technical guidance and direction to cross-functional project teams.
Ensure engineering projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Identify risks and roadblocks early and work proactively with key stakeholders to resolve them.
Support project execution through strong coordination with Sales, Operations, Aftermarket Service, and Finance.
Drive innovation within the engineering department by exploring emerging technologies and trends in packaging automation.
Support the development of new product concepts and technologies that are market-ready, manufacturable, and serviceable.
Lead research and development initiatives aimed at improving product performance, reliability, serviceability, and cost effectiveness.
Contribute to the advancement of BellatRx’s product portfolio through creative problem-solving and forward-thinking engineering leadership.
Collaborate with Sales to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive requirements.
Support Applications in translating customer requirements into technical specifications.
Provide technical support to customers as needed, including support for installation and commissioning activities.
Partner with Operations and Aftermarket Service to ensure smooth project execution and strong customer experience.
Ensure engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
Work with Quality, Operations, and Service to maintain strong quality control processes and minimize production issues.
Investigate and resolve engineering-related quality concerns, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Promote continuous improvement across engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
