About The Position

Beztak Senior Living is seeking a bright, dynamic leader with a passion for service and a commitment to excellence to join their family. The Director of Engineering - Service Manager will supervise maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure the property, grounds, and equipment are safe, orderly, and visibly appealing. This role involves overseeing building space, communication services, and facility expansion, planning budgets and schedules for modifications, and inspecting construction progress. The ideal candidate will motivate and hold their team accountable for excellent customer service and high-quality repairs, while also performing various duties like building repairs, snow removal, housekeeping, or groundskeeping to provide residents with a clean and well-maintained living environment. Responsibilities also include hiring team members, providing continuous learning and development, and documenting various unit repairs and replacements. The role requires completing emergency repairs, operating company or personal vehicles for job duties, and working in a high-pressure environment dealing with difficult customers/vendors, urgent matters, and conflict resolution, requiring effective interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or related Vocational Training and/or equivalent work experience
  • HVAC knowledge
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • Candidates must be willing and able to drive for work-related purposes as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA certification preferred
  • Experience in property management is not required to join the Beztak team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion
  • Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates
  • Inspects construction and installation progress.
  • Motivate and hold accountable a team to provide excellent customer service and high-quality repairs in a timely manner
  • Performs various duties such as building repairs, snow removal, housekeeping or groundskeeping to provide residents with a clean and well-maintained living environment
  • Responsible for the hiring of team members, and providing continuous learning and development of their team
  • Documents replacement of appliances, carpet, vinyl, water heaters, condensers, etc., in all units. Also tracks systems repairs, apartment painting (full paint or touch-up), refrigerator coil cleaning, and other major repairs
  • Completes emergency repairs as may be required to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Operating a company vehicle or personal vehicle (as required) to perform job duties.
  • Working in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, having effective interpersonal skills.
