About The Position

The Director of Engineering, Infrastructure will lead the strategy, design, and operation of our cloud infrastructure and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices. This executive will be responsible for ensuring scalability, performance, resilience, and cost efficiency across engineering and product technology platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a modern approach to engineering, proven expertise in IaaS/PaaS, AI-native Infrastructure strategy, capacity planning and cost optimization, and the ability to drive innovation while enabling high-velocity product delivery. This is a Hybrid position located in Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite for business reviews, quarterly meetings and other collaboration opportunities; when not working onsite, you will work remotely from your home location.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of engineering experience, with 4+ years leading platform, infrastructure, or SRE organizations
  • Deep knowledge of AWS and GCP, with a track record of building scalable, resilient platforms.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Kubernetes — cluster design, workload management, multi-tenancy, and operational runbooks
  • Expert-level Terraform and IaC discipline — you review it; you enforce it.
  • Strong CI/CD architecture experience across Harness, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins at enterprise scale
  • Proven track record building and operating world-class IaaS/PaaS products serving large engineering populations
  • Hands-on experience with Backstage or comparable IDP platforms — catalog, templates, plugins, and adoption strategy
  • Multi-cloud fluency across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure with mature understanding of networking, IAM, and cost governance
  • Working knowledge of API gateway products and platform security patterns
  • Passion for automation, DevOps, and continuous improvement across operations and engineering.
  • Excellent ability to influence and partner with executives, product leaders, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in building and mentoring high-performing, diverse engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging LLMs to accelerate engineering — from AI-assisted code generation to autonomous developer workflows
  • Hands-on experience building AI agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to connect infrastructure with intelligent automation
  • Clear vision for putting infrastructure behind agentic experiences — making platform capabilities natively accessible to AI-driven workflows

Responsibilities

  • Drive CI/CD strategy and toolchain maturity using Harness, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins across a large engineering organization
  • Govern multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) with a strong IaC-first mindset using Terraform — no snowflakes, no manual drift
  • Lead the design and adoption of AI-powered engineering capabilities: LLM-assisted development, autonomous agents, and MCP server infrastructure
  • Architect and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms at scale — managing workloads, resource governance, and operational excellence
  • Partner with Product, Data, eCommerce, and Security Engineering leadership to define roadmaps, align on platform investments, and accelerate delivery
  • Present platform strategy, risk posture, and engineering outcomes clearly to executive leadership
  • Lead platform engineering teams across the US and India, ensuring 24x7 reliability of shared infrastructure services that underpin core company revenue
  • Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure Strategy – Own the architecture, reliability, and security of global cloud platforms supporting product and enterprise systems.
