Director of Engineering and Design
About The Position
Seven Seas Water Group (SSWG) delivers more than 20 billion gallons of water a year to industrial, governmental, municipal, and hospitality customers across the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America. Through our Water-as-a-Service® (WaaS®) model, we design, build, own, and operate more than 200 water and wastewater treatment plants, taking on the capital and operational risk so our customers don't have to. SSWG is a portfolio company of EQT, a purpose-driven global investment organization with more than three decades of experience supporting portfolio companies in achieving sustainable growth, operational excellence and market leadership. You'll run the day-to-day of the engineering department: setting priorities, managing the team's workload, and making sure every drawing and document that goes out the door is right the first time. You'll be a technical voice in front of customers during business development, building the estimates and preliminary designs that win projects. You'll work closely with Project Management and Construction to standardize our designs, so plants get built faster and cleaner. This isn't a hands-off management job. We need someone who still knows the work well enough to jump in, make the tough call, and mentor a team that respects the decision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, Environmental, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 5 to 10 years in engineering
- Experience with wastewater or municipal projects
- 5 years managing engineers
- Deep fluency in municipal water and wastewater processes
- Working knowledge of mechanical, process, electrical, and I&C disciplines
- Comfort owning the full design document set (mass balance, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment arrangements)
- Familiarity with document control discipline to keep projects on track
Nice To Haves
- A Texas PE license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
- A PMP certification
Responsibilities
