About The Position

Salesforce is looking for a Director of Enablement Engineering who is as comfortable managing a high-performing team as they are live in front of a room full of engineers. This role leads the Enablement Engineering team within Technology, People, Innovation & Learning (TPIL), reporting to the Senior Director of TPIL Learning, and is central to driving Salesforce's AI adoption journey across the Technology & Products (T&P) organization. This is a player-coach role. You'll set the vision and direction for the team, develop and grow your engineers, and still roll up your sleeves to build and facilitate world-class technical enablement yourself. You know how to lead, but you haven't lost the hands-on instincts that made you good at this work.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and managing technical teams — you know how to hire well, develop people, and build a team that does their best work.
  • Hands-on software engineering experience — you write code, not just read it.
  • Proficiency in at least one language (Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar) is required.
  • Solid understanding of software development fundamentals: version control (Git), application programming interfaces (APIs), debugging, and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Proven experience presenting and facilitating to technical audiences — you're energized by a room, not intimidated by it.
  • Comfortable setting up and troubleshooting technical environments on the fly and able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, audience-appropriate content.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Salesforce platform development (Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and hands-on experience working with AI tools — prompt engineering, large language models (LLMs), Agentforce, or Copilot.
  • A background in developer relations, technical training, or solutions engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Enablement Engineers — setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, supporting career growth and fostering a collaborative, high-standards team culture
  • Drive team priorities and workload planning in alignment with broader T&P learning strategy and represent the team and its impact with senior stakeholders
  • Partner with the Senior Director of TPIL Learning to shape the enablement engineering strategy and roadmap.
  • Develop and facilitate live and virtual technical enablement sessions for Salesforce engineers and technical audiences — making complex AI and platform concepts accessible and actionable.
  • Build and maintain demo environments, sandboxes, and code samples that support live facilitation.
