About The Position

Albertina Kerr empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges and other social barriers to lead self-determined lives and reach their full potential. The Director of Employment Services provides strategic leadership for programs that support employment, skill development, and independence for the people we support. This role oversees program design, operations, compliance, and quality while building strong community partnerships and guiding a high‑performing team. The Director ensures programs are effective, person‑centered, and financially sustainable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field of study, or additional equivalent experience.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in a large, (I/DD) intellectual/developmental disabilities provider setting, with demonstrated expertise in implementing person-centered approaches.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of managers to achieve organizational goals for community-based employment.
  • In-depth understanding of philosophies and approaches to support people with I/DD.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage programs and foster professional development.
  • Adept organizational, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficient in financial management and compliance monitoring.
  • Ability to meet all background check, reference, and driving verifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations to ensure high-quality services, client satisfaction, and financial stability.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a strong management team.
  • Implement systems and processes aligned with organizational goals.
  • Communicate program performance, challenges, and priorities to leadership.
  • Develop and evaluate employment program strategies based on community needs.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing standards and organizational policies.
  • Represent the organization in community and partner engagements.
  • Use data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support staff development through coaching, training, and growth plans.
  • Assist program leaders with service issues, complaints, and emergencies.
  • Guide managers in effective operational and financial oversight.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee development of individualized support plans (ISPs).
  • Partner with Quality Assurance on staff training, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate on annual budgets and funding requests.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses to maintain fiscal accountability.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly billing.
  • Complete additional duties as needed.
