Responsible for overseeing all programmatic aspects of the organization’s employment programs to ensure a high quality of life for individuals supported by providing evaluation, training and on-going support through opportunities within the community. Oversee the employment staff and day-to-day operations to ensure program quality and integrity via quality assurance standards as set forth by Developmental Services of Dickson County. Provide leadership, management and vision to ensure the organization has the proper operational controls, administrative support, and resources in place to sustain and grow the programs and to ensure high performance, financial strength and operating efficiency. Works cooperatively with the State Division of Rehabilitation Services to establish and maintain contractual relationships, including ensures regulatory compliance of operations by monitoring and implementing applicable state and federal requirements; assuring the accurate submission of required reports, information, and bills on a timely basis, investigating problems; maintaining records. Establishes and maintains supportive relationships with local employers and the general community to facilitate employment opportunities for people supported. The duties may include cold calling potential employers, attending job fairs, meeting with local civic leadership, membership in professional organizations and coordination with other employment organizations. Achieves financial objectives by actively participating in the development of operational budgets; monitoring compliance with budgets; making revisions in program activities and composition as required. Participates in the processes where each person and their Circle of Support (COS) aims to identify an individual’s employment preference, potential barriers to employment and the coordination efforts necessary to obtain/maintain employment during the Individual Support Plan (ISP), Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP) or Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) planning processes. The Director will model appropriate assessment processes for evaluation and planning purposes. Works cooperatively with Quality Improvement and Risk Management team to develop, review and submit employment measurement data to include (but not limited to) referral information, demographic information, services completed, services in process, etc. and identifying and implementing any plans for improvement. Maintains professional and technical knowledge and/or credentials by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
