About The Position

Lifesteps is seeking an Employment Services and Transition Director to oversee the Employment Services Program for Special Needs Individuals. The Director is responsible for the development, operation, and supervision of the Employment Services Program, ensuring clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities receive high-quality training in vocational, daily living, and social skills to foster self-reliance and prepare for competitive employment. This role involves assisting individuals in selecting vocational goals, obtaining and maintaining employment, and providing workplace accommodation assistance. The Director will also promote a positive work environment, oversee staff and job coaches, and create documentation and reporting for OVR, ODP, and management staff. The position is based in Butler, PA, and works Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent credits (60) and 6 years of experience working directly with adults with disabilities and 4 years of Supervisory experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience working with adults with disabilities and at least 2 years supervisory experience OR Master’s Degree and 1-year experience working directly with adults with disabilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle
  • Ability to obtain acceptable clearances

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a specific area of instruction such as adult training, vocational rehabilitation, or special education is preferred.
  • ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) certification in employment services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of documentation and reporting for OVR, ODP, and management staff.
