About The Position

Formlabs is seeking a leader to own the evolution of its printer's nervous system. This role involves leading embedded engineering, systems integration, and electrical engineering globally to build the tools that enable anyone to bring their ideas to life. The company aims to reunite the fields of cybernetics to create flexible, robust, and intelligent systems. The ideal candidate will ship complex electromechanical products, build high-performance teams, be customer-obsessed, and dive deep into technical details.

Requirements

  • Shipped complex electromechanical products to production in high-performance environments — understand what changes when you go from prototype to 100,000 units in the field.
  • Built high-performance teams.
  • Impatient and want to ship great products quickly.
  • Customer-obsessed, with a deep focus on the business to ensure we are building the right solutions for our customers.
  • Dive deep into technical details across engineering and physics domains.

  • Ship amazing products that are loved by customers and make a dent in the universe by making it easier for people to go from an idea to a real thing.
  • Scale a world-class cybernetics engineering team, leading embedded engineering, systems integration, and electrical engineering globally.
  • Solve for Performance: Drive the embedded and electrical breakthroughs that enable our printers to do what others think is impossible.
  • Build the Brain: Create a modular architecture (main boards, chipsets, peripherals) that scales across our entire ecosystem.
  • Iterate at Speed: Move from "what if" to a working prototype faster than anyone else in the industry.
