Director of Education - Early Childhood
About The Position
Join the dynamic team at The Goddard School® of Murray Hill (Manhattan-Midtown East) as our Education Director! We’re seeking a passionate and proactive leader to support a team of dedicated educators and ensure a high-quality learning environment for children and families. As Director of Education, you will be responsible for overseeing teaching and learning throughout the School and ensuring that our classrooms provide a positive, engaging, safe and intentional learning environment. A central responsibility of this position is leading and supporting the effective implementation of our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, Wonder of Learning®.
Requirements
- NYS Teaching certification in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or Special Education (B-2 or 1st-6th)
- At least 3 years of experience teaching in early childhood education and 1+ year in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of child development, early learning best practices and team leadership
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- A genuine love for children and commitment to high-quality education
- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations while upholding brand, regulatory and policy standards
- Hire, train, supervise and support staff to build a positive, collaborative team
- Deliver our proprietary Wonder of Learning ® program, designed to spark curiosity, support individual growth and inspire a lifelong love of learning
- Build strong relationships with families and promote the School in the community
- Maintain a safe, clean and prepared environment for children, staff and visitors

- Twenty-Nine (29) paid personal days per year which includes twelve (12) paid personal days per calendar year, five (5) paid personal days between Christmas and New Year's Day when the school is closed and seven (7) paid holidays per calendar year.
