About The Position

The Goddard School of Stuytown is seeking a passionate, proactive Director of Education to lead teaching and learning across the School. The Director oversees daily operations and supports a high-quality learning environment for children and families. A central responsibility is leading and supporting effective implementation of the School’s Reggio Emilia-inspired Wonder of Learning® curriculum, ensuring classrooms are positive, engaging, safe, and intentional.

Requirements

• NYS teaching certification in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or Special Education (B-2 or 1st-6th).
• At least 3 years of experience teaching in early childhood education.
• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of child development, early learning best practices, and team leadership.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for children and commitment to high-quality education.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations while upholding brand, regulatory, and policy standards.
• Hire, train, supervise, and support staff to build a positive, collaborative team.
• Deliver the Wonder of Learning® program to spark curiosity, support individual growth, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
• Build strong relationships with families and promote the School in the community.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and prepared environment for children, staff, and visitors.
