About The Position

Franklin Road Academy seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Diversity, Community, and Inclusion to lead and advance the school's commitment to fostering an inclusive, Christ-centered educational environment for all students. This role involves strategic collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and families to cultivate a community characterized by mutual respect, intellectual curiosity, and the embodiment of Christ's message of love and inclusion. The Director will serve on the senior leadership team and report directly to the Assistant Head of School for Academic and Student Affairs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diversity initiatives within educational settings.
  • Experience in curriculum development and faculty professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse constituencies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience at the middle or upper school level preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive vision for diversity, community, and inclusion that aligns with FRA's mission and values.
  • Evaluate diversity initiatives, student belonging, and campus climate, and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
  • Identify annual goals in collaboration with the leadership team that advance the strategic vision of the school.
  • Collaborate with division heads and the Director of Studies to recruit, hire, and retain diverse faculty and staff.
  • Attend conferences and maintain a network of prospective candidates.
  • Build and sustain relationships with local colleges, universities, and organizations to strengthen diverse hiring candidate pool.
  • Serve as an ambassador for FRA during admission events, articulating the school's vision to prospective families.
  • Develop and implement assessment metrics using data and qualitative feedback to drive strategy and assess progress.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders to integrate culturally responsive pedagogy and Christ-centered perspectives into curricular and co-curricular programs.
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities focused on culturally relevant teaching practices.
  • Lead and support faculty and student committees dedicated to diversity, community, and inclusion.
  • Organize and oversee cultural events and programs that celebrate the diverse backgrounds of the FRA community.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with students, families, and faculty/staff from diverse backgrounds to ensure a welcoming and supportive school environment.
  • Teach two courses annually in the Middle or Upper School, as needed, to maintain a direct connection with students and the academic program.
