About The Position

Power Cross is seeking a Director of Discipleship to invest in the development of young men, cultivate spiritual leaders, equip coaches, teach God's Word, and foster a Christ-centered culture. This role goes beyond overseeing Bible studies, aiming to shape future husbands, fathers, leaders, and men of God. The mission of Power Cross is to build up young men from generational poverty into spiritual leaders through Jesus, utilizing daily discipleship and athletics. Discipleship is central to the ministry's identity, and the Director will guide the spiritual direction and develop a discipleship strategy for young men from elementary school through college, while also empowering coaches and staff to become effective disciple-makers. The ideal candidate has a passion for Jesus, young people, God's Word, and leader development, and may come from backgrounds such as pastor, youth pastor, discipleship pastor, ministry leader, coach, FCA leader, Young Life leader, Christian educator, or missionary.

Requirements

Mature Christian faith and a genuine calling to discipleship ministry.
Love for teaching Scripture and helping people understand how to live it.
Ability to connect naturally with young men.
Belief that athletics can be an incredible platform for ministry.
Enjoyment in developing leaders.
Capacity to mentor and equip coaches to become disciple-makers.
Relational, energetic, and organized.
Comfortable leading both small groups and large gatherings.
Desire for work to have Kingdom impact.

Responsibilities

Lead and strengthen the discipleship culture across Power Cross.
Develop age-appropriate Bible studies and discipleship resources.
Teach and lead Bible studies.
Mentor young men and coaches.
Equip coaches to disciple their teams.
Build relationships with families and local churches.
Support young men in making decisions for Christ.
Help lead baptisms, prayer gatherings, and special ministry events.
Maintain a meaningful presence in the everyday life of Power Cross.
Ensure Biblical teaching, mentorship, and spiritual formation are integrated into all aspects of Power Cross's activities.
