Timely reporting and investigation of incidents or adverse events. Reports these and other information concerning departmental affairs to leadership in a timely manner. Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising staff in area of responsibility. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining staff as well as for staff development. Implements and promotes the use of technology as an effective tool to improve operations and communications. Develops or participates in development of policies and procedures that will guide care delivery and ensure culture of patient and family centered care. Ensures that policies and procedure are accurate and applicable. Work to achieve goals of the department and organization. Monitors for high quality and compassionate care through chart review, professional discussions, and patient rounding. Addresses areas of improvement immediately and recognizes high performing team members. Ensures adequate coverage for unit to meet expected staffing metrics and achieve the standard of care expected. Supports and encourages staff to participate in shared governance at unit and organization level. Engages staff and patients to achieve a high level of patient satisfaction. Assures that required JC and state regulations for dialysis are met. Responsible for department’s budget and financial viability.
