About The Position

The Director of Development & Strategic Partnerships will lead CHOICE’s fundraising, grant acquisition, and strategic partnership initiatives for fundraising and volunteer purposes. This role is responsible for securing diversified revenue streams, cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and government entities, and supporting the organization’s long-term sustainability. This position will collaborate closely with leadership and program staff to align funding strategies with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, resource development, or grant management.
  • Proven track record of securing funding from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Commitment to CHOICE’s mission and values, with cultural competence and experience working with underserved populations.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive resource development strategy to expand CHOICE’s funding base.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Oversee annual giving campaign, when feasible develop a major gift and planned giving program, and participate in special donor, volunteer, and client events.
  • Track and report on fundraising performance metrics and donor engagement.
  • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with organizational programs.
  • Write, submit, and manage proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources.
  • Ensure timely reporting and compliance with all grant requirements.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with current and prospective donors and community partners.
  • Develop new and maintain existing relationships with Community Partners that lead to donations of funds, volunteers, or goods for clients (e.g. Feeding Westchester, United Way, Banks, local municipalities, Women’s Junior Leagues, Places of Worship, etc.).
  • Develop and implement stewardship strategies to engage and retain donors and/or corporate sponsors.
  • Collaborate with communications team to produce fundraising materials, impact reports, and promotional content, including annual report.
  • Arrange site visits to develop a continuous pipeline with current donors.
  • Manage the agency requests, pick up and distribution for but not limited to the United Way, Good 360, County Harvest, Feeding Westchester, the Undies Project, Toys for Tots, New Rochelle Backpack Program, and 914 Cares to obtain resources to address client needs.
  • Submit monthly statistics to Feeding Westchester for White Plains.
  • Update and submit requests for volunteers from Volunteer NY!.
  • Coordinate Agency Client Holiday donations and distributions.
  • Submit timely reports on goods received.
  • Send timely acknowledgement of goods received.
  • Work with Executive Director and senior leadership to establish fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance to staff and volunteers involved in fundraising efforts.
  • Represent CHOICE at fundraising meetings and conferences.
  • Special projects and other duties assigned.
