About The Position

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Director of Development to lead and expand its fundraising and external engagement efforts. This role is responsible for designing and executing a modern, data-informed development strategy that supports the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. The Director of Development will oversee fundraising events, donor and sponsor relationships, community partnerships, and performance reporting, and will work closely with executive leadership and a Professional Advisory Board to strengthen visibility, impact, and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Experience in planning, managing, and growing fundraising and awareness events
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders
  • Experience in cultivating, stewarding, and expanding relationships with donors and sponsors
  • Experience in managing donor and sponsor lists and identifying new prospects
  • Experience in overseeing fundraising communications
  • Experience in tracking outreach, attendance, sponsorships, and revenue using data tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems)
  • Experience in preparing reports analyzing fundraising performance, projected revenue, ROI, and engagement metrics

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual fundraising strategy in alignment with organizational goals
  • Establish revenue targets and track progress across all fundraising initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to diversify and expand fundraising revenue streams
  • Plan, manage, and grow major fundraising and awareness events, including an Annual Gala and community awareness walks
  • Design and launch new fundraising and community awareness initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, mission-aligned organizations, community partners, and sponsors
  • Cultivate, steward, and expand relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and institutional partners
  • Manage donor and sponsor lists while proactively identifying and engaging new prospects
  • Collaborate with the Professional Advisory Board to support fundraising and outreach efforts
  • Oversee fundraising communications, including e-blast campaigns and coordination with social media efforts
  • Ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging across all fundraising and engagement activities
  • Track outreach, attendance, sponsorships, and revenue using organized data tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems)
  • Prepare regular reports analyzing fundraising performance, projected revenue, ROI, and engagement metrics
  • Provide clear, timely updates to the Executive Director and Board to support informed decision-making
