About The Position

The University of Nebraska Foundation is seeking a Director of Development for the College of Law. This role is crucial in building a robust community of philanthropic support for law students by partnering with College of Law leadership. The position involves building relationships with alumni, community leaders, and donors to align their philanthropy with the College of Law's goals. The Director will cultivate donor engagement through active participation in campus events and related responsibilities. A key aspect of the role is planning and implementing major gift fundraising strategies, including the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors, as well as strategizing complex and impactful gifts with a sophisticated donor base. The ideal candidate will be a relationally talented, intellectually curious, relationship-focused, self-motivated, and dynamic communicator who can make authentic connections and facilitate meaningful conversations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a development, fundraising, sales, client-facing role or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Discretion in handling and navigating confidential matters.
  • Candidates will also be evaluated on our core values of passion for mission, integrity, and teamwork.
