About The Position

Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness is seeking a full-time Director of Data Strategy, Analytics, and Quality to join their executive leadership team. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for promoting Vanier’s mission, vision, values, and strategic directions to ensure the agency remains a respected provincial leader in providing children's mental health services. The Director will be accountable for the strategic leadership of system planning, data and performance management, quality improvement, and client and family engagement across the southwest region. The role requires strong relationship-building, engagement, and consultation skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to understand data and implement quality improvements that drive action. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health administration, social sciences, MBA, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in health system planning, leading and implementing quality improvement, in a healthcare or community setting.
  • 8 -10 years of senior leadership experience, with proven success in leading leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Commitment to incorporating cultural competence and equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging into all aspects of work.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • 2 Step TB test.
  • Broad Record Check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for system planning, data and performance management, quality improvement, and client and family engagement.
  • Promote Vanier’s mission, vision, values, and strategic directions.
  • Lead a high-performing quality and lead agency team responsible for system planning, performance management, and quality improvement.
  • Partner with the Executive Leadership team to build and sustain an organizational culture of quality, accountability, clinical excellence, client engagement, and equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Demonstrate and promote stewardship of financial and organizational resources.
  • Ensure alignment with Vanier’s strategic plan, mission, vision, and values.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the collection, collation, analysis, and reporting of data for internal and external purposes, including data from clinical and outcome measurement tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy, identify trends, and prepare reports to support program evaluation, quality improvement, and funder reporting requirements.
  • Champion a client engagement culture and approach within the organization and the Children’s Mental Health sector.
  • Embed a client engagement approach and health equity lens into organizational quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Lead the agency’s client and caregiver engagement initiatives and provide oversight to client satisfaction survey systems.
  • Lead the development of proposals and business cases for data & analytics initiatives.
  • Promote analytic usage and skills among management and employees through training, mentoring, and tool selection.
  • Work collaboratively with Executive Leaders and the Board on the balanced scorecard to track organizational performance.
  • Apply expertise in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization.
  • Advise and influence others internally and externally using expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis and data presentation.
  • Lead the development of an annual quality improvement plan, directing the implementation of initiatives and projects.
  • Champion quality improvement throughout the organization by leading initiatives such as LEAN and Six Sigma.
  • Lead large complex projects.
  • Lead accreditation with CARF and ensure follow-up and sustainability between accreditation cycles.
  • Provide leadership for a continuous improvement process to review and update Vanier policies and procedures.
  • Support the Clinical Leadership team in preparing for the annual live-in treatment MCCSS licensing application process and reviews.
  • Provide expert knowledge of evaluation frameworks, process and outcome evaluation, quality improvement models, and diagnostic methods.
  • Foster relationships with leaders in children’s mental health, child welfare, primary care, education, hospitals, and government.
  • Participate in provincial children’s mental health working groups and lead agency communities of practice.
  • Lead the development of a community-based multi-year strategic plan, projects, and monitor, track, and report performance regularly with children’s mental health partners.
