About The Position

The Director of Curriculum Logistics manages the operational systems supporting centrally coordinated undergraduate instruction, including the core curriculum and Signature Courses. Responsibilities include course coordination, scheduling, seat capacity, student programming related to the core, and the accuracy of related curriculum records. The Director translates approved academic decisions into workable course offerings and dependable services for students, faculty, advisors, and academic units. The position carries the program leadership that has long supported Signature Course instruction at the University. The Director works directly with faculty who develop and teach centrally coordinated courses, oversees support for teaching assistants and undergraduate course assistants, administers the instructional budget that sustains course sections and course development, and coordinates learning communities and transition programming for entering students. The position collaborates with Academic Affairs, Curriculum and Academic Administration, the Registrar’s Office, Assessment and Accreditation, academic advising, colleges and schools, deans, department chairs, and faculty. Academic policy, curriculum approval, course criteria, learning outcomes, and faculty advisory functions remain with the appropriate academic authorities. Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Requirements

Master’s degree and substantial professional experience in higher education academic operations, curriculum administration, registrar functions, course instruction, or a closely related area.
Demonstrated experience coordinating complex, multi-unit implementations on a fixed timeline.
Working knowledge of curriculum management and student information systems, course scheduling, seat management, degree audit, and instructional staffing logistics.
Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to develop staff.
Experience administering an operating or instructional budget.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to build and interpret operational reports.
Clear and credible oral and written communication with faculty, administrators, students, and staff.
Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to build trust across units that do not report to this position.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

Serve as the operational lead for centrally coordinated undergraduate course delivery, including annual planning, phased program changes, and implementation of approved revisions to University curriculum requirements.
Build and maintain multi-year implementation plans addressing course supply, section counts, faculty participation, instructional staffing, review cycles, catalog and degree audit changes, advising communication, and reporting milestones.
Coordinate scheduling and administrative logistics for Signature Courses and transition courses designated by each college, school, or unit.
Serve as the University’s principal administrative resource for deans, chairs, advisors, faculty, and staff regarding the operational delivery of Signature Courses and related undergraduate instructional programs.
Coordinate course proposal logistics for centrally coordinated undergraduate programs, including submission calendars, criteria documentation, agenda and materials preparation, decision records, and communication of outcomes to departments.
Meet regularly with faculty and departments regarding proposal requirements, course design, delivery expectations, and program improvement, referring academic judgments to the appropriate administrative body.
Plan and convene retreats, workshops, and orientations that support course development, effective delivery, and shared understanding of approved course expectations.
Communicate decisions regarding funding, course development support, and instructional incentives to faculty, department chairs, deans, and associate deans.
Manage assigned proposal portals and curriculum records, including the annual review of approved course inventories.
Coordinate university-wide planning for assigned undergraduate offerings, including section counts, seat allocation, and instructional capacity, working with colleges and departments to align available seats with student demand.
Serve as the primary scheduler and seat manager for assigned offerings, including seat reservations for programs across campus, closing limits, and registration restrictions.
Track faculty-approved delivery expectations, including small-section targets and limits on online and hybrid sections, and report regularly on the University’s progress.
Serve as the primary point for resolving complex registration issues involving assigned courses, in coordination with advisors, departments, and the Registrar’s Office.
Manage classroom scheduling and room assignments for assigned courses.
Maintain assigned course inventories, catalog copy, degree audit coding, and curriculum management system records to ensure that approved courses appear accurately for students, advisors, and departments.
Work with the Registrar’s Office to align transfer, dual-credit, and test-credit equivalencies with University curriculum requirements as they change.
Oversee the collection of syllabi, course evaluation reporting, final examination coordination, and related instructional records for centrally administered courses.
Prepare operational reports for University leadership, state agencies, and accreditation review, including Texas Core Curriculum reporting when applicable.
Provide administrative leadership for learning communities, Signature Courses, and related centrally coordinated undergraduate offerings.
Oversee the coordination and support of teaching assistants, undergraduate course assistants, and peer mentors, including peer mentor development instruction.
Support the design and delivery of initiatives serving first-time-in-college and transfer students as they begin their undergraduate studies.
Coordinate the planning, promotion, and approval of lecture series and other campus-wide programming connected to first-year instruction and student transition.
Represent assigned undergraduate programs at orientation, recruitment, and information sessions for students, families, advisors, and campus partners.
Administer the instructional budget supporting assigned course offerings, including allocation, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
Manage assigned contracts, vendor relationships, and operational resources.
Hire, train, and supervise assigned professional staff, graduate interns, and student employees; manage performance, workloads, mentoring, and professional development.
Develop and use dashboards and reports on course enrollment, section capacity, instructional demand, bottlenecks, and completion patterns to identify problems early.
Maintain operating procedures, documentation, and guidance for departments, advisors, and students.
Recommend and implement improvements to systems that are slow, unclear, or duplicative.
Represent the office on committees, task forces, and cross-functional implementation teams, and build relationships with peer institutions engaged in centrally coordinated undergraduate instruction and curriculum administration.
