About The Position

Valley View Retirement Community is seeking an Director of Culinary Services to help lead our dining and nutrition team while ensuring exceptional service, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction. In this leadership role, you'll partner with the General Manager of Culinary Services to oversee daily department operations, support team development, maintain high food safety standards, and create a positive dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the Culinary Services Department
  • Oversee Cafe operations: pricing, billing, signage
  • Participate in special event planning, QAPI, Safety Committee & Food Councils
  • Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop Culinary Services team members
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, sanitation standards, and infection control practices
  • Review and monitor department audits/logs and work orders.
  • Monitor food quality, service standards, inventory, purchasing, and budget performance
  • Collaborate with Nursing, Activities, Environmental Services, and other departments to support resident care
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, surveys, inspections, and departmental improvement efforts
