About The Position

Green Country Village Senior Living is seeking a hospitality-focused Director of Culinary Services with senior living and/or fine dining experience and strong administrative and financial skills to add consistency, excellence, and creativity to our Culinary Services team. This role involves enhancing the lives of seniors with a person-centered approach to care. The community is located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on a 26-acre campus.

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience with kitchen/fine dining room management, supervision, and cooking in hotel or fine dining setting.
  • High school graduate required.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process across three communities of care, and understand resident requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, coworkers; requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
  • High level of sensitivity and interest in people, especially older adults.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Ability to function independently.
  • Ability to maintain a cheerful attitude and remain flexible under stress at all times.
  • Ability to function as a “team” member in sharing responsibilities in corporation with all departments and members of the teams.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 70% of the work day (8-hour shift).
  • Ability to independently lift, balance, and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate full campus.
  • Must be able to maintain mental & visual attention to diversified operations.
  • Ability to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior living and/or fine dining experience.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Prefer advanced education in food & beverage management.
  • Senior Living community experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall production of food for the GCV community.
  • Oversees the operations of the GCV main kitchen.
  • Manages the operation of the Independent Living, Assisted Living, & Lakeview Memory Care Dining areas.
  • Responsible for the selection, training, and supervision of the production, preparation, diet aide, utility, and server/wait staff.
  • Maintains high standards in service, food preparation, food presentation, resident relations, cost control, personnel, safety, sanitation, training, and special functions.
  • Assists in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the Culinary Services Department with the GCV community plan of operations.
  • Assigns, schedules, trains, and oversees work of the kitchen, utility, and server personnel.
  • Conducts regularly-scheduled production and other staff meetings.
  • Purchases and maintains inventories for food and non-food items within approved budget.
  • Maintains records for food preparation system, recipes, inventory, storerooms, and other areas such as Culinary Services offices.
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and local standards for sanitation, food preparation, food storage, hygiene, and health standards of personnel.
  • Circulates in the dining areas during meal service times to field comments pertaining to service and food quality.
