Berea College is seeking a Director of Counseling Services in Berea, Kentucky. This is a leadership position focused on combining clinical practice, team leadership, crisis response, prevention, and campus-wide collaboration within a residential college community. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary counseling team and influencing the mental health and well-being support for approximately 1,500 undergraduate students. The position reports to the VP for Student Life and offers active clinical work alongside strategic leadership. The workplace is grounded in the College's Great Commitments and Common Learning Goals, emphasizing learning, service, compassion, dignity, equality, teamwork, and valuing all people. The Director oversees a residential college counseling clinic with a team of 6-8 therapists and other professionals, including practicum students, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and administrative staff. Responsibilities include serving as a resource to College leadership on student mental health trends, participating in campus Care Team and crisis management teams, and building partnerships across campus and the community, while maintaining an active clinical caseload.
