About The Position

The Director of the Corporate IT Project Management Office (PMO) leads the governance, planning, and execution of the enterprise IT portfolio to ensure alignment with business priorities and delivery of measurable value. This role oversees portfolio intake, prioritization, resource planning, delivery standards, and executive reporting across all IT initiatives. The Director collaborates with business and technology leaders to strengthen planning discipline, improve cross-functional execution, and advance delivery practices across predictive, agile, and hybrid models while building a high-performing project management office (PMO) team. Requirements

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
  • 5+ years of demonstrated competency and success in a project management leadership role involving the execution of multiple projects and people leadership
  • Proven success implementing strong project delivery practices, including portfolio risk and issue management, financial stewardship, stakeholder communication, and benefits realization
  • Management-level experience utilizing Azure DevOps and Smartsheet delivery tools
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe, Scrum@Scale)
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, information systems or related field
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional teams and projects
  • Three or more years of experience in a role that supports the technical needs and goals of multiple business units, departments or divisions within an organization
  • Experience assessing and advancing PMO maturity using recognized frameworks (e.g., PMI OPM3, P3M3, Gartner PPM models), with a focus on evolving toward value-driven, data-informed portfolio management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in business, IT and financial; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Advanced project and portfolio management knowledge, with demonstrated application of governance, planning, estimation, change management, and delivery assurance practices in complex enterprise environments
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources
  • Understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and execute a project resource plan

Responsibilities

  • Lead PMO strategy, governance, and operating model to ensure portfolio delivery aligns with business goals, technology roadmaps, and investment priorities
  • Oversee portfolio intake and business case review, driving prioritization and making strategic decisions based on value, capacity, risk, dependencies, and strategic alignment
  • Establish and continuously refine PMO standards, methodologies, and controls to support consistent delivery across predictive, agile, and hybrid models
  • Provide clear executive-level reporting on portfolio status, financials, risks, dependencies, and expected outcomes to support informed decision-making
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and issue escalation, ensuring timely resolution for enterprise and high-impact initiatives
  • Lead enterprise-wide resource planning by aligning project needs with available talent and capacity, adjusting allocations as priorities and timelines evolve
  • Enforce disciplined scope, schedule, budget, and change control practices to maintain delivery quality, predictability, and accountability
  • Partner with IT and business teams to strengthen delivery planning, readiness, and execution for complex initiatives
  • Own PMO tools, processes, and reporting practices to improve visibility, data accuracy, and workflow tracking across the delivery lifecycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors to drive alignment, transparency, and shared accountability
  • Oversee vendor and partner engagement, including planning assumptions, performance expectations, governance processes, and escalation paths
  • Lead, coach and develop PMO staff and project leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Assess PMO maturity and lead improvement initiatives to enhance delivery performance, organizational agility, and value realization
  • Perform other duties and complete other projects as assigned
