About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the construction and real estate portfolio within a specific region, working in a matrixed organization. The Director will support local Facility leaders and manage diverse teams, including internal stakeholders and external consultants, vendors, and contractors. Key responsibilities include coordinating project specifications, estimating costs, hiring vendors, managing construction activities, and overseeing schedules and budgets. The position requires strong communication skills for presenting capital project updates and maintaining facilities footprint metrics. The Director will also support local facility leaders in planning, budgeting, and scheduling modifications, and perform risk assessments to ensure efficient facility operations. Confidentiality is essential due to access to technical processes, equipment, and strategic business plans. The role also focuses on identifying cost-saving opportunities, optimizing space and utilities, and improving facilities operations.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree required preferably in an engineering or construction-related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering or construction management.
  • 5+ years of experience managing construction projects in a corporate setting.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom environments, tool installation and hookups.
  • Proficiency with Work Order platforms and KPI reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of BMS reporting and management solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with multiple contractors simultaneously.
  • Strong project/construction management leadership and collaboration skills, including scope development, equipment layout planning, RFP development, contractor selection, construction management to budget and schedule.
  • General knowledge of EH&S methods and handling of hazardous and toxic substances.
  • Able to execute plans, programs, and goals, motivate and engage the workforce, evaluate work accomplishments and provide effective feedback/solutions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with differences of opinion, to influence, to draw ideas from others, and to negotiate and mediate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to comprehend and communicate at multiple levels within and outside the organization.
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership and competency.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidate has semiconductor, clean room and/or laser related industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, or manufacturing engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Support local Facility leaders and manage diverse teams including both internal stakeholders and external consultants, vendors, contractors and other resources.
  • Coordinate and develop project specifications, estimate cost and resources, hire supporting vendors and contractors, manage construction activity, and oversee schedules and budgets.
  • Compile and present capital project updates to functional and business leadership in standardized formats.
  • Maintain facilities footprint metrics for the full region according to corporate standards and report those metrics regularly to the worldwide head of facilities.
  • Support local facility leaders to plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuous, efficient operation of facilities.
  • Identify opportunities for synergistic savings without sacrificing quality of services or reliability of facilities operation.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve optimization of facilities space, investment and utilities cost.
