About The Position

The Director of Concrete Restoration & Building Envelope Operations holds full operational ownership of Spire Building Solutions' project portfolio, leading project teams that deliver commercial concrete restoration and building preservation solutions across the region. This role is accountable for the complete performance of the region's enterprise, including its people, projects, financial results, client relationships, and safety and quality outcomes, from preconstruction through closeout. The position combines executive-level judgment with hands-on operational command of concrete restoration, waterproofing, repair, and building envelope work. The Director is responsible for building and leading a strong team of Project Managers, Foremen, and site personnel, protecting schedule and margin across the portfolio, serving as the senior operational point of accountability to internal leadership and external stakeholders, and embodying Spire's custom, process-driven approach to restoration, innovation, and transformation.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive construction operations experience, including multi-project or portfolio leadership in commercial restoration, concrete repair, waterproofing, facade, or building envelope work.
Demonstrated success leading and developing teams of Project Managers, Superintendents, and field crews across concurrent projects.
Strong P&L and financial management capability at the portfolio or business-unit level.
Deep technical knowledge of self-performed concrete restoration, waterproofing, masonry, coatings, sealants, and building preservation work.
Proven client-facing leadership with owners, associations, property managers, and design professionals.
Proficiency managing within Procore, Sage, Microsoft Project, and CRM and reporting tools.
OSHA-30 required.
First Aid / CPR certification.
Working knowledge of motorized, suspended, and fixed scaffolds and aerial lifts.
Ability to travel throughout the Assigned region and to project sites as operational needs require.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Hold end-to-end accountability for every active and pipeline project in the portfolio, ensuring each is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to Spire's restoration and preservation standards.
Balance and prioritize resources, labor, equipment, and management attention across concurrent projects to optimize portfolio-level throughput, utilization, and profitability.
Establish and enforce consistent operating standards, processes, and reporting cadences across all project teams for predictable, repeatable, and scalable performance.
Anticipate and resolve cross-project conflicts, bottlenecks, and risks before they affect cost, schedule, safety, or client confidence.
Partner with sales, estimating, and preconstruction to maintain a healthy, well-sequenced pipeline and a clean handoff of awarded work into operations.
Lead, direct, and develop multiple project teams, setting clear expectations, goals, and accountability for Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen.
Provide day-to-day operational direction and decision-making support to project leadership, removing obstacles and making decisions that keep work moving in the field.
Conduct regular performance reviews, field coaching, and mentorship to raise the capability and consistency of the entire region's operations organization.
Foster a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with Spire's process-driven model.
Hold profit-and-loss accountability for the region's portfolio, protecting and improving margin across all active projects.
Review and approve project budgets, forecasts, labor and equipment plans, and cost-to-complete projections; intervene early where performance diverges from plan.
Drive change-order identification, pricing, and approval to capture, monetize, and integrate scope changes and unforeseen conditions into budget and schedule.
Manage portfolio-level cost controls, labor productivity, equipment utilization, rentals, procurement, and subcontractor spend to meet or exceed financial targets.
Partner with finance and accounting on billing, cash flow, work-in-progress, and revenue recognition for the region's work.
Serve as the senior operational relationship owner for regional clients, owners, associations, property managers, architects, and engineers.
Build and sustain trusted, long-term client relationships that drive repeat work, referrals, and Spire's reputation across the regional market.
Lead high-stakes client communication, expectation-setting, issue resolution, and escalation across the portfolio.
Represent Spire's brand promise of custom, process-driven restoration in every client interaction and at every project milestone.
Own workforce planning for the region, forecasting staffing needs against the project pipeline and ensuring each project is correctly resourced and crewed.
Make hiring, assignment, promotion, corrective-action, and termination decisions for the operations team, in coordination with the VP of Operations and Human Resources.
Recruit, onboard, and retain a strong regional enterprise team of Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and skilled site workers capable of self-performing concrete restoration and building preservation work.
Build career pathways, cross-training, and succession depth so the region can scale without sacrificing quality, safety, or continuity.
Champion certification, licensing, and ongoing technical development across the workforce (OSHA, scaffold and aerial-lift competencies, and trade-specific skills).
Own quality and safety outcomes across the entire portfolio, setting the standard and holding every team accountable to it.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, jurisdictional, and Spire safety requirements; champion a zero-incident culture on every job site.
Enforce Spire's workmanship, quality, and building-preservation standards through inspections, mockups, and disciplined field oversight.
Drive corrective action and root-cause resolution on quality and safety issues, ensuring lessons learned are captured and standardized across teams.
Engage early in preconstruction, participating in estimate and scope review, constructability assessment, scheduling, staffing, and risk planning for awarded work.
Ensure clean mobilization, execution, and progress management across all phases of each project.
Oversee procurement, subcontractor selection, submittals, mockups, and schedule integration at the portfolio level.
Drive disciplined closeout across every project, documentation, punch resolution, final deliverables, client handoff, and warranty.
Provide regular, accurate operational and financial reporting to the VP of Operations and executive leadership, including portfolio status, schedule, cost, risk, safety, and forecast.
Maintain disciplined documentation and data integrity within Spire's systems of record (Procore, Sage, Microsoft Project, and CRM).
Keep internal stakeholders, executive leadership, estimating, finance, HR, and sales informed and aligned with portfolio realities.
Keep external stakeholders, clients, design teams, authorities having jurisdiction, and subcontractors updated, aligned, and confident.
Translate field reality into clear, decision-ready information for leadership and clear, confidence-building updates for clients.
