About The Position

This position is responsible for providing professional support to the local courts legislative and civic outreach programs. The position is responsible for developing communication policy, and priorities; providing strategic communication support to court programs, activities, and initiatives; providing communication counsel; serving as media spokesperson to include communications on social media for the circuit. The position develops and implements circuit presentations for the judges and court staff. Work is performed under the supervision of the Trial Courts Administrator.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in English, journalism, legal studies, public or business administration.
  • Five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Facebook and social media platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in maintaining effective working relationships with State Courts System staff relevant to communication and execution of public information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Power Point and similar word processing computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Providing professional support to the local courts legislative and civic outreach programs.
  • Developing communication policy, and priorities.
  • Providing strategic communication support to court programs, activities, and initiatives.
  • Providing communication counsel.
  • Serving as media spokesperson to include communications on social media for the circuit.
  • Developing and implementing circuit presentations for the judges and court staff.
  • Managing and handling all forms of public communications.
  • Serving as the main contact for all Public Records requests.
  • Traveling between courthouse locations to meet duties required for the position.
  • Creating and delivering formal presentations to the public.
  • Exercising discretion, confidentiality, impartiality, and honesty in handling matters before the court.
