We are seeking an innovative and adaptable Director of Community Lending and Investment to join our entrepreneurial and impact-focused leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a CDFI background, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for empowering underserved communities through financial innovation.

Requirements

7–10 years’ experience in lending, with expertise in underwriting, portfolio management, and community investment.
3+ years in a leadership role within a financial institution, CDFI, or community development setting.
Demonstrated ability to manage affordable housing or community development loan portfolios.
Success designing loan products for underserved populations.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.

Responsibilities

Lead all lending activities including origination, underwriting, processing, and servicing.
Ensure compliance with lending regulations and internal policy.
Manage and grow a diverse loan portfolio centered on affordable housing and community development.
Oversee credit analyses, risk assessments, and loan approval workflows.
Design community-responsive loan products based on emerging needs and trends.
Collaborate with external partners to deliver housing, small business, and economic development lending solutions.
Leverage CDFI funds and grants to amplify impact.
Partner with banks, investors, and agencies to raise capital for lending initiatives.
Stay informed on CDFI policy updates and ensure organizational compliance.
Develop and execute strategic growth plans for the lending division.
Cultivate partnerships with public, private, and philanthropic stakeholders.
Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing lending and investment team.
Foster a results-driven, collaborative culture focused on innovation and impact.
Track and report key performance metrics.
Provide timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Use analytics to improve portfolio performance and identify growth opportunities.
