About The Position

The Director of Communications leads the strategy, systems, and congregational communication and the community at large. This role is responsible for strengthening organizational clarity, ensuring consistent messaging across ministries and platforms, and building scalable communication systems that support continued church growth and future multi-campus ministry. This leader will serve as both a strategic thinker and hands-on contributor who can lead projects, build effective systems, collaborate across teams, and execute high-quality communication initiatives with excellence.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, branding, or creative leadership.
  • Experience leading communication strategy and execution within a growing organization; church or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Experience managing projects, workflows, and multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead churchwide communication strategies aligned with ministry priorities and organizational vision.
  • Build scalable communication systems, workflows, and standards that strengthen organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, branding, voice, and storytelling across all communication channels.
  • Evaluate communication effectiveness and recommend improvements through analytics, feedback, and innovation.
  • Lead communication planning and execution for churchwide events, ministry initiatives, campaigns, and seasonal emphasis periods.
  • Manage project timelines, approvals, priorities, and communication workflows across multiple projects.
  • Contribute to communication deliverables including website content, email campaigns, copywriting, and digital communications.
  • Ensure communication projects are completed with excellence, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Partner with ministry leaders and staff to develop effective communication strategies and plans.
  • Build collaborative relationships across departments and support alignment of communication efforts.
  • Equip ministries with communication tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Oversee website, email, social media, and digital communication platforms.
  • Guide the development of engaging written and visual content for attenders, guests, and the community.
  • Champion storytelling that communicates life change, ministry impact, and the mission of the church.
  • Maintain high standards of creativity, consistency, and excellence across communication platforms.
