About The Position

Maintain a strong engineering and sales base for the business and develop our employees to be focused and technical professionals. Provides technical direction, sales and business guidance to the engineering, sales, customer service and parts team. This function needs an appropriate mix of domain knowledge (abilities in packaged pump system engineering for Custom Commercial Plumbing, Rainwater, Industrial businesses, and the fire pump package industry. Continually seeks innovative methods for improving team performance, improving Engineering Systems, Processes, and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical) or similar industry experience/education.
  • 5+ years’ experience in similar engineering Industry.
  • Experience of managing both in-house and outsourced engineering activities.
  • Experience and knowledge of SolidWorks CAD/CAE software, electrical CAD, PLC, and HMI programming software.
  • Excellent knowledge of packaged pump system engineering, system design, centrifugal pumps, and pump related processes, systems, and procedures as well as deep knowledge of commercial products, Fire Municipal, HVAC, Irrigation, and Industrial products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer aptitude, highly proficient in Microsoft office and knowledge of running various software related to the functions.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands and can deal with Experience of working in a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to prepare concise, accurate, well-presented documents, with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage own and others’ time and workloads effectively.
  • Experienced in conducting performance reviews, including personal objective setting.
  • Maintain positive attitudes and zeal even when working under pressure to become the best Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Establish brand recognition and preference for SPP Inc. and SyncroFlo products and services.
  • Drive all SPP Inc. and SyncroFlo sales support activity to meet / exceed company assigned yearly sales budget.
  • Work with sales while managing the applications team to maximize margins for all SPP Inc. and SyncroFlo sales orders.
  • Establish standardized costing activities for all SyncroFlo and SPP inc. products and services.
  • Establish standardized quotation activities for all SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. products and services.
  • Manage SyncroFlo and SPP inc.’s applications team on day-to-day basis, provide any mentoring / training required, and provide regular feedback to VP-Commercial Services regarding on-going applications workload.
  • Support all SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. application / sales activities within Salesforce.
  • Drive standardized Salesforce usage within SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. sales / applications team.
  • Provide regular feedback to SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. customers regarding year-to-date performance / overall yearly objectives and sales targets.
  • Coordination with all SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. distributor locations and personnel for product support, advancement, development, and competitive analysis for SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. products.
  • Provide technical support, training, and customer visits as necessary.
  • Develop review and follow up procedure on open quotation log and ensure positive growth in % of quotations closure.
  • Attend / manage regular sales meetings to discuss ongoing issues, concerns, and objectives.
  • Drive growth from distributors, through regular communication, relationship building, active quotation follow-up / review, and any other proactive activity.
  • Manage and lead Contracts team for SPP Inc. and Project Coordination team for SyncroFlo.
  • Manage and lead Customer Service including warranty, RMA, and parts for SPP Inc. and SyncroFlo.
  • Ensure completion of projects/jobs in timely manner of all standard, fire, and custom commercial Products.
  • Contribute to day-to-day activities by planning, scheduling all activities from time to time and improving the engineering processes and systems to streamline all engineering activities.
  • Analyze and modify the engineering processes for error free designs, simplify and reduce complexity, optimize design and cost of the systems.
  • Automate all engineering activities/standards/Engineering documents to reduce the cycle time and control cost.
  • Ensure timely monitoring and reviewing (QC) for all submittals and shop packs before it goes to sales/customer and on floor as well.
  • Review and control the process for on time engineering releases to internal and external customers to maintain the KPIs.
  • Contribute by writing SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. Engineering Standards/procedures/work instructions and time to time improve the engineering processes and systems to streamline all engineering activities.
  • Improve the quality of engineering design, drawing and document system at SyncroFlo and SPP Inc. to meet customer expectations and benchmarks in the industry.
  • Timely monitoring and responses to all technical queries of customer/sales.
  • Establishing system and communications from sales and operations teams to enable planning and scheduling of engineering work.
  • Responsible for reduction in change orders, errors in design/drawings by standardizing component library.
  • To support the business and growth of the company, develop system logic, data compilation for selection and configuration, comparison with competition for SPP Inc. and SyncroFlo.
  • Support and/or lead R&D, new products implementation, new products design/development, and lead initiatives in CAPEX and OPEX.
