About The Position

The Director of Commercial Analytics & Pricing is a key commercial leadership role responsible for driving data-informed decision making, pricing discipline, margin improvement, and business performance across the organization. This role partners closely with Sales, Product Management, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership to translate market dynamics, customer trends, manufacturing capabilities, cost drivers, and commercial performance into actionable strategies. This position will lead the development and execution of pricing practices, profitability analysis, business analytics, forecasting insights, and commercial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong financial and analytical acumen, a deep understanding of flexible film manufacturing and converting markets, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused manufacturing environment. While this role will continue to support commercial processes and tools, the primary focus is on improving business performance through pricing strategy, margin management, market insight, and actionable analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial analytics, pricing, sales operations, finance, product management, or business leadership within a manufacturing or B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, margin analysis, product mix, pricing strategy, customer profitability, and commercial decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&Ls, margin analysis, cost modeling, pricing waterfalls, and profitability improvement.
  • Experience developing pricing models, dashboards, executive reporting, business reviews, and commercial performance metrics.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the commercial impact of material cost changes, supplier actions, tariffs, freight, lead times, capacity, and market dynamics.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Executive Leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex analysis for sales teams, executives, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to balance customer needs, market competitiveness, manufacturing realities, and company profitability.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills required.
  • High sense of urgency, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving, commercially driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in flexible films, flexible packaging, plastics, converting, specialty materials, or a related manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of flexible film manufacturing, substrates, coatings, converting processes, resin markets, and/or packaging value chains preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, CRM systems, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferred, but this role is not intended to be primarily a CRM administration role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial analytics and pricing practices to support revenue growth, margin improvement, and informed executive decision making.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to evaluate business performance, market trends, customer behavior, product mix, cost changes, and manufacturing impacts.
  • Own and continuously improve pricing processes, including new business quotes, customer price agreements, price change implementation, index-based pricing mechanisms, special pricing requests, and overall price administration.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models that reflect material costs, manufacturing capabilities, freight, tariffs, market conditions, competitive dynamics, customer value, and margin expectations.
  • Provide leadership and structure around pricing discipline, ensuring quotes and price actions align with company margin goals, market realities, and commercial strategy.
  • Analyze profitability by customer, product line, market, vertical, plant, item, and opportunity to identify trends, risks, and areas for margin improvement.
  • Identify and lead margin expansion initiatives, including product mix optimization, pricing actions, cost-to-serve analysis, customer profitability reviews, and process improvements.
  • Prepare analysis and insights for monthly business reviews, quarterly profitability reviews, executive leadership meetings, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Monitor market dynamics impacting flexible films, including resin trends, supplier actions, import pressures, tariffs, lead times, capacity constraints, and competitive activity.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to understand actual versus planned costs, manufacturing efficiency, inventory exposure, and product availability as inputs to pricing and commercial decisions.
  • Support Sales and Product Management with customer-facing analytical tools, pricing guidance, market insights, and profitability data to improve commercial execution.
  • Lead recurring and ad-hoc business analysis to support executive decisions, customer negotiations, market strategy, contract renewals, RFQs, and growth initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and scorecards that provide clear visibility into sales, margin, pricing performance, customer trends, pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, and business risks.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to improve forecast accuracy, pipeline visibility, customer performance tracking, and alignment to bookings, revenue, and margin targets.
  • Provide analytical support for commercial planning, annual budgeting, sales targets, incentive plan inputs, and strategic business reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes, reporting, pricing practices, and data quality.
  • Serve as a cross-functional commercial partner who can translate complex data into clear recommendations and practical business actions.
  • Support CRM and commercial systems as needed, with emphasis on accurate data, meaningful reporting, and business decision support rather than system administration.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members supporting pricing, analytics, sales operations, and commercial reporting.
