About The Position

The Director of Clinical Services oversees the assigned clinical programs and provides direct leadership, supervision, and support to the clinical team within the assigned programs. The Director of Clinical Services works closely with the clinical team to ensure the delivery of quality assessments, treatment plans, programming, and resources. The Director of Clinical Services develops and implements program goals and objectives and ensures alignment with the agency’s strategic plan. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Clinical Services influences and implements policies, procedures, and agency standards and initiatives. The Director of Clinical Services is a key communication link between the multidisciplinary team, funding agencies, community resources, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in psychology, educational psychology, social work, or in a related human service field.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience supervising clinicians, providing leadership, guidance, support, and development to team members.
  • Experience with clinical interventions and assessments for vulnerable persons.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and/or other related issues.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, coach, mentor, and support others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong relationships and professional working alliances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program goals and objectives and ensure alignment with the agency’s strategic plan.
  • Responsible to ensure the development and oversight of comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide oversight and consultation for the ongoing implementation of individual and family treatment plans.
  • Evaluate and approve quarterly progress reports and treatment plans.
  • Monitor and provide clinical oversight of the assigned programs.
  • Participate in intake procedures and intake capacity meetings.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the participants by advocating that programs and resources are implemented in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Support the clinical team in their advocacy on behalf of the participants.
  • Collaborate with Performance and Quality Improvement to resolve resident grievances.
  • Monitor and evaluate post-crisis responses to ensure compliance with agency policy and procedures.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including families and referring agencies.
  • Monitor and participate in planning conferences, educational conferences, family consultations, conferences with health care professionals, and conferences with other stakeholders, as required.
  • Participate in the development of succession and human resources strategies.
  • Participate in the development of other agency programs, policies, and procedures to ensure integration of the clinical programs and alignment with agency initiatives.
  • Participate in community events, agency activities, and other activities as required.
  • Ensure the clinical team’s reports, documentation, and casework is completed in a clear, accurate, and timely manner and is in compliance with agency standards.
  • Ensure important information has been disseminated to families and referring agencies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Manage the team within their programs including; recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, and staff discipline.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and team development for all employees of the program including: facilitating team meetings and individual supervisions; overseeing and providing training and development plans; completing evaluations, reviews, and when applicable, performance improvement plans; participating in employee relations issues and investigations; providing post-crisis debriefing; and providing advice and consultation.
  • Responsible to ensure direct reports have completed mandatory training.
  • Responsible for the implementation and integration of CARE throughout all program components.
  • Responsible to ensure clinicians implement evidence informed practice in all interventions, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in the strategic visioning for the clinical program and ensure alignment with the agency’s strategic goals and objectives and mission, vision, and values and in accordance with standards associated with professional registering bodies.
  • Influence and implement policies, procedures, and agency standards and initiatives.
  • Schedule all employees of the program using agency approved systems. Manage and update the schedules as required including approving paid time off (PTO) requests and addressing staffing requirements.
  • Influence the operational budget planning as it relates to treatment plans and other services.
  • Provide input into budgets for special needs, events, or education sessions.
  • Responsible for the cost-effective stewardship of clinical resources and assets within assigned programs.
  • Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
  • Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
  • Develop and implement procedures for prevention of injuries and diseases in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure employees are working in compliance with established safe work practices.
  • The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
  • The incumbent must be registered with an accredited professional association or body.
