About The Position

The Director of Clinical Operations operationalizes the nursing program’s learning site in collaboration with the campus nursing director. Clinical Operations may include scheduling, skills laboratory, partnership development, clinical placement and compliance, and simulation. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing strategies for the operational management of clinical, lab, and simulation activities, including new clinical partnership development and scheduling to meet organizational and university goals. The Director will also be responsible for recruiting, retaining, and orienting staff and faculty, ensuring compliance with university, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Additionally, this role contributes to the evaluation and mentorship of clinical and simulation faculty, manages student and faculty compliance with healthcare partners’ clinical requirements, and evaluates clinical sites for quality. The Director ensures compliance with quality, safety, legal, and regulatory standards in all clinical and academic operations. The position may require non-traditional office hours for programmatic requirements such as pinning ceremonies, admission events, or weekend activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of Lab and simulation equipment
  • Training in simulation best practices
  • Supervisory Experience
  • Maintenance of student and faculty clinical compliance
  • Clinical partnership development

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management of clinical, lab, and simulation activities including new clinical partnership development and scheduling to meet organizational and university goals and outcomes.
  • Recruit, retain, and orient staff and clinical and simulation faculty and staff while ensuring compliance with university, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and mentorship of clinical and simulation faculty in collaboration with the nursing director.
  • Evaluate, mentor and ensure professional development and training of staff including but not limited to simulation operations specialists and clinical compliance coordinators.
  • Conduct regular visits to clinical partners to monitor placement quality.
  • Participate in budget, inventory, and resource management for clinical, lab, and simulation activities in collaboration with nursing leadership.
  • Manage student and faculty compliance with healthcare partners’ clinical requirements and evaluate clinical sites for quality.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, legal, and regulatory standards in all clinical and academic operations.
