About The Position

Vitality Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as a Director of Clinical Operations in the Lehigh Valley, PA area. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical leader in hospice or home health to oversee interdisciplinary teams, drive quality patient care, and lead operational excellence within a clinician-owned hospice organization. The Director of Clinical Operations (RN) is responsible for overseeing all clinical services, staff performance, regulatory compliance, and patient care outcomes. This role partners closely with leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered hospice care.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 2+ years hospice, home health, or palliative care experience
  • Minimum 1+ year of clinical leadership or supervisory experience (Clinical Manager, DON, Supervisor, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of: Hospice regulations (CMS, CHAP, Joint Commission preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of: End-of-life care, pain and symptom management
  • Strong knowledge of: Care planning, documentation compliance, and IDT processes
  • Experience with staff supervision, performance management, and team leadership
  • Excellent skills in clinical decision-making, crisis intervention, and family communication
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all clinical operations and patient care services within hospice programs
  • Lead and facilitate Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to ensure effective care planning
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate RNs, LPNs, Hospice Aides (CHHA), Social Workers, and Clinical Staff
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with CMS, CHAP, and state regulations
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with Compliance to develop and implement clinical education and training programs
  • Conduct facility visits to strengthen partnerships and support patient care delivery
  • Oversee operational metrics including staffing, scheduling, payroll, mileage reimbursement, and supply costs
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, and service recovery efforts
