About The Position

The Director of Clinical Services oversees all clinical operations within the assisted living community, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and positive resident, family, and staff experiences. This role provides clinical leadership, supports Memory Care programming, and partners closely with the Executive Director to maintain excellence in care delivery. This is a very hands-on position.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Current California RN or LVN license
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory healthcare experience, including 3 years in assisted living leadership
  • Strong knowledge of CCLD regulations and licensing compliance
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Current California DSS Administrator Certificate (or ability to maintain)
  • Adult First Aid certification required
  • Must pass DOJ/FBI background check, health screening, and TB test
  • Clean driving record required
  • Must complete required Relias trainings monthly

  • Experience with Memory Care and dementia care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight for assisted living and memory care services
  • Ensure compliance with CCLD regulations, licensing requirements, and internal policies
  • Conduct resident assessments, oversee medication administration, and review clinical documentation
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate Memory Care programs and resident care services
  • Collaborate with Executive Directors, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate regularly with residents and families regarding care needs and changes
  • Monitor infection control, workplace safety, and OSHA compliance
  • Coordinate and conduct staff training, in-services, and performance reviews
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise care staff and licensed clinical personnel
  • Manage care staff scheduling and provide on-call support as needed
  • Support licensing surveys, plans of correction, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the Executive Director’s absence when needed
  • Step in as caregiver or medtech when needed
  • Report once a month during PM shift to check-in on PM employees
