About The Position

The Director of Client Services provides leadership and oversight to a group of highly skilled professionals across multiple service lines, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality consulting and technical assistance services to clients. This role supports the operational, strategic, and professional needs of service line staff while helping to design and implement scalable, sustainable business solutions. The ideal candidate is a servant leader with strong critical thinking, change management, and people development skills. They will guide teams through evolving organizational priorities, support the service lines with the rollout of new processes and service offerings, and serve as a key connector between frontline staff and senior leadership. Success in this role requires comfort leading in a dynamic, growth-stage environment, helping teams adapt and navigate ambiguity as the organization evolves in support of its mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare operations, finance, or consulting, ideally in a hospital or health system setting.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, with demonstrated success in change management, team development, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong familiarity with rural healthcare issues, challenges, and dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and motivate individuals to complete work on time and at a high level of quality.
  • The ability to explain complex processes in layman’s terms for understanding of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft systems and comfort using and adopting additional technical platforms as needed.
  • Understanding of matrix organizations and cross functional reporting structures.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, with the ability to execute hands-on.
  • Strong communications skills and fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-directed, detail‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, virtual work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive work culture.
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing insights and recommendations to inform organizational priorities and decisions.
  • Provide direct leadership and oversight to service line staff delivering consulting and technical assistance services, including: Healthcare financial analytics, modeling, and operational improvement; Healthcare strategic planning and performance improvement; Regulatory compliance and quality improvement; Clinical best-practices and physician-to-physician engagement; Healthcare data analytics and reporting; Community and regional planning; Facilitation and stakeholder engagement; Other service lines established as the organization evolves.
  • Ensure alignment between service line activities and the RHRC strategic plan, supporting consistent, high-quality service delivery to clients.
  • Support service lines in identifying, procuring, and managing external vendors to supplement workflows as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational procurement policies and processes.
  • Works cross-functionally with education and procured vendors to develop client-facing e-learning resources.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics related to service line effectiveness, staff utilization, and client outcomes.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure staffing needs are met, and work environments remain healthy, supportive, and productive.
  • Ensure performance evaluations, goal setting, and feedback processes are completed accurately and on schedule for all service line staff.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between Senior Leadership and teams, supporting clear information flow, transparency, and two-way feedback.
  • Identify organizational or operational challenges impacting service line efficiency and effectiveness and provide recommendations to the SLT to address barriers.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations to identify infrastructure and process needs, ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, and support continuous improvement.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing subject matter expertise to proposals, client relationships, and evolving service offerings.
  • Mentor and develop emerging leaders within service lines, strengthening leadership capacity, and supporting succession planning.
  • Promote consistent documentation, knowledge sharing, and communication across service lines to support scalability and organizational continuity.
