About The Position

RQC, LLC is seeking an experienced Director of Civil Engineering to oversee and grow our civil engineering operations based in Jacksonville, Florida. This senior leadership position is responsible for directing the technical delivery and strategic planning of civil engineering initiatives supporting Department of Defense (DoD) projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of military design criteria, experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines, and a proven ability to mentor and strengthen teams serving U.S. military clients, all while aligning with the company's Mission, Vision, and Values. RQC specializes in fast-track commercial construction for the Department of Defense, providing fully integrated design, engineering, and construction services.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
At least 15 years of experience in civil/site design
Experience using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, InfoDrainage, or equivalent platforms
Understanding of federal project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) in compliance with FAR requirements
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and permitting processes
Willingness to travel to project locations when required
Provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
