About The Position

The Director of Catering & Convention Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, financial performance, and operational execution of all catering, conference services, and group event operations for a premier full-service Hyatt Regency resort. This role oversees a high-performing team responsible for planning and executing meetings, conventions, incentive programs, weddings, social events, and special functions while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with extensive experience managing large-scale group business within a luxury or upper-upscale resort environment. This position requires strong commercial acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across all resort departments to deliver flawless event execution.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of progressive Catering and Convention Services experience.
• 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a full-service hotel or resort.
• Strong leadership, financial, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Luxury or upper-upscale resort experience preferred.
• Experience with large group and convention business is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Catering Sales and Convention Services teams.
• Drive catering and banquet revenue while maximizing profitability.
• Oversee the planning and execution of meetings, conventions, weddings, and special events.
• Build strong relationships with meeting planners and key clients.
• Partner with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Rooms, Revenue Management, and Operations to ensure seamless event execution.
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, labor, and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards and deliver outstanding guest satisfaction.
