About The Position

The Director of Category Management is the mastermind behind our product selection, ensuring that every inch of shelf space is working hard to make customers happy (and keep them coming back for more). You'll oversee our team of Category Managers, as well as the Merchandising and Pricing teams, making sure we stay ahead of trends, negotiate killer deals, and maximize profitability without losing our cool, quirky charm. Oh, and you'll also be part of our Stinker Leadership Team, helping to shape the future of our business.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, pricing, or a related field.
  • A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a passion for sightseeing- as there will be frequent travel between Stinker locations.
  • Must consent to and pass a background check.
  • Must be comfortable working in an office environment surrounded by furry friends (that's right, we're dog friendly!).
  • Work is performed under normal office working conditions in a temperature-controlled environment, may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or Skunk Leadership preferred.
  • convenience store or retail experience = major bonus points.
  • A mix of analytical skills (hello, spreadsheets) and creative thinking (because numbers are great, but so is knowing what customers actually want before they do).
  • Strong negotiation chops- you can talk vendors into great deals without breaking a sweat (or at least without breaking the budget).
  • A sense of humor, a love of snacks, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Category Managers, Merchandising pros, and Pricing wizards, empowering them to make strategic, data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Store Teams to ensure product launches, promotions, and seasonal changes go off without a hitch.
  • Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and market data to optimize product mix, pricing, and promotions.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers like a pro to get the best deals and the most exciting products on our shelves.
  • Create and execute category strategies that keep our stores ahead of the competition and stocked with what customers actually want.
  • Drive innovation in merchandising, pricing, and product selection while keeping our brand's fun, slightly mischievous personality front and center.
