About The Position

Provide leadership and oversight for the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program while delivering high-quality classroom instruction in assigned CTE courses. Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements, promote continuous program improvement, and prepare students for postsecondary education, industry certification, and workforce success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid CTE teaching certificate
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws governing the CTE program
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices
  • Ability to interpret and analyze student performance and program data
  • Ability to manage budgets and oversee program compliance
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise staff while maintaining classroom effectiveness.
  • CTE teaching experience required

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years preferred CTE teaching experience
  • Experience in program leadership, coordination, or supervision preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of district CTE programs and Programs of Study.
  • Ensure curriculum, instructional materials, assessments, and industry certification opportunities align with TEA guidelines and workforce demands.
  • Analyze student achievement and program data to evaluate effectiveness and implement improvements.
  • Support alignment of CTE pathways with graduation endorsements and postsecondary readiness goals.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local CTE regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district curriculum and state standards.
  • Deliver engaging, industry-aligned instruction that reflects real-world applications and workforce expectations.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Assess student progress using formal and informal measures and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and industry-standard classroom/lab environment.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry leaders, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate work-based learning experiences, internships, job shadowing, and career exploration opportunities.
  • Promote CTE programs to students, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and District Leadership to oversee the CTE budget and ensure effective use of CTE allotment and grant funds.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and instructional materials.
  • Ensure facilities, labs, and equipment meet safety standards and industry expectations.
  • Assist in recruiting, supporting, and evaluating CTE instructional staff.
  • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to CTE teachers.
  • Collaborate with campus administrators and counselors to support student course selection and pathway planning.
  • Plan and assign work to instructional aides as applicable.
  • Participate in district leadership meetings and professional development.
  • Facilitate the District’s CTE Advisory Committee.
  • Stay current on CTE trends, labor market data, and certification requirements.
  • Support the mission and strategic goals of the district.
  • Provide program-level instructional oversight of CTE teachers, including review of curriculum implementation, course content, instructional materials, and industry alignment.
  • Direct the work of assigned instructional aides.
