The Director of Campus Technology leads a small team of server and network administrators delivering enterprise data center support and services. Also manages campus Help Desk and Desktop Support staff. Performs other job related duties as required and reports directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Provide first line management and hands-on technical coordination of on-site technology staff, plus several student workers in a higher education environment. Perform full scope of supervisory responsibilities. Ensure the stable operation of enterprise connectivity for the college. This includes but not limited to planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, support, and optimizing all local and wide area network hardware and connections, wired and wireless, server and storage, associated software, and communication links. Prepare financial budgets and present proposals for capital projects to senior executives. Assess college’s technology needs and make upgrade recommendations. Instrumental in setting short and long term IT implementation goals. Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure value-added products and services. Maintain disaster recovery documentation of procedures, access, contacts, and inventory for area of responsibility. Protect sensitive data, systems and applications from external threats. Research industry best practices, benchmarks and tools and identify opportunities to incorporate into college best practices
