Director of Business Systems Product Management

Verkada•San Mateo, CA
•$220,000 - $310,000•Onsite

About The Position

This role leads the Business Systems Product team in the CIO organization. Verkada runs on four value streams — Quote-to-Cash, Attract-to-Hire-to-Retire, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report. The systems behind them decide how fast the company can sell, hire, source, ship, and close the books. You own the product functions across them. The portfolio spans both sides of the company. Some of these systems face partners and customers, where the experience is part of how Verkada competes and where the ambition is to be the easiest company in the industry to do business with. Others face employees, where the experience drives how the company scales. The bar is the same on both sides: systems people choose to use, intuitive enough to need almost no training, and scalable so overall company growth exceeds the rate of headcount growth. Your team is organized by the functions it serves: Partner Ecosystem (Partner Portal and vStore), Finance, Supply Chain & Operations, Legal, and People. Each product manager owns the systems roadmap for their function and acts as the product counterpart to that function's leadership. You own the whole — including the parts that only work when someone connects them. A partner order has to land cleanly in NetSuite. A headcount plan has to reconcile between Workday and the financial model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, Finance, Business, or another technical/analytical field.
  • 10+ years in product management, business systems, or a related technical role, including 3+ years leading product managers.
  • Track record owning enterprise systems end to end across more than one business function, accountable for the outcome rather than the delivery alone.
  • Experience across both external-facing and internal-facing systems, and a clear point of view on why the quality bar should be the same for both.
  • Experience designing for multiple personas on a shared surface, where a seller, an admin, and a finance user all need the product to work without it becoming a compromise for all three.
  • Depth in at least two of: quote-to-cash, record-to-report, procure-to-pay, supply chain planning and fulfillment, or the employee lifecycle — with credible curiosity about the rest.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, or comparable platforms, and with the integration patterns that connect them.
  • Basic SQL, Python, JavaScript and HTML. You should be able to interrogate the data yourself.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and experience partnering with design. You can review a wireframe and tell the difference between a workflow that gets adopted and one that gets worked around.
  • Experience preparing and delivering to executive leadership, including defending a roadmap and a make-versus-buy recommendation.
  • Handles ambiguity, moves fast, and builds alignment across a demanding stakeholder group — keeping leadership informed and bought in along the way.
