About The Position

The Business Services Director holds operational ownership over the essential infrastructure and central systems that keep Salem State University running smoothly every day. In this role, you will manage a diverse and tangible portfolio—from overseeing the university’s vehicle fleet, gas card program, and surplus property disposition to directing the campus copier program, asset tracking, and mail services. You will bring sharp financial oversight to the division by directly managing budgeting, accounting, and accounts payable across these core central services, while collaborating closely with the ClipperCard program's administrative operations. Combining strategic management with hands-on execution, you will also play a key role in drafting and modernizing institutional policies, ensuring our teams, documentation, and campus-wide web resources are positioned for long-term success. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration.
  • Five to seven years working in a receiving, mail services, copy center in a corporate and higher education environment.
  • Five years of managerial or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and data base software applications
  • Knowledge of hardware and software utilized in a purchasing and central services environment.
  • Experience and demonstrated effectiveness with asset management.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business, Procurement or a related field.
  • Massachusetts MCCPO certification.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and expectations.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and experience implementing appropriate quality control programs and standards.
  • Demonstrated communication, management, presentation, and leadership skills appropriate to such position.
