About The Position

The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple COA schools, ensuring our locations achieve company goals while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, employee development, operational excellence, and financial performance. This role partners closely with school leadership and senior corporate management to drive consistent execution of company policies, develop high-performing teams, improve operational processes, and support the continued growth of COA. The Director of Operations will lead across a broad geographic area and serve as a key resource to School Directors and their teams.

Requirements

10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years of multi-site leadership experience across a broad geographic area.
3–5 years of supervisory and multi-site management experience.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Educational background must meet applicable federal and state childcare licensing requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, develop leaders, and support employee retention.
Strong understanding of financial performance, budgeting, and P&L management.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple locations and competing priorities.
Comfortable using technology, computer systems, and operational reporting tools.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional approach.
Strong commitment to customer service and the COA mission.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for business operations, documentation, compliance, and communication with employees, families, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple schools and ensure operational performance aligns with company goals and expectations.
Drive revenue growth and support achievement of financial objectives.
Monitor school profit and loss (P&L) and ensure operations remain within established budgets.
Provide daily leadership, guidance, and support to School Directors and employees.
Develop and implement strategies focused on recruitment, employee development, retention, and performance.
Build and maintain high-performing leadership teams while supporting employee engagement and morale.
Review operational and financial reports for accuracy, trends, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular leadership meetings to establish priorities, improve communication, and ensure accountability.
Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, customer service, and overall school performance.
Ensure school operations consistently reflect COA's mission, vision, values, policies, and standards.
Partner with senior leadership to address operational challenges and implement solutions.
Maintain professional and responsive relationships with school administration, employees, families, and corporate leadership.
Promote a positive customer-service culture across all assigned locations.
Represent Children of America professionally with external stakeholders, including government agencies, media, and the general public, when appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer.
