About The Position

The Director of Business Intelligence is a key member of the technology leadership team and serves as the Company’s data and analytics thought leader. This leader will develop, plan, and implement a data/analytics strategy that delivers optimal returns on investment in coordination with the organization’s goals and core values with a focus on a “customer service” orientation. Areas of responsibility include strategic leadership, team management, technical leadership around data management / ELT processes, end user reporting and analytics needs as well as project prioritization and management. This leader will bring a track record of success in setting the strategic data and analytics direction in a multi-unit, franchised enterprise by driving innovation and building a competitive advantage based on strategic information. The role is located in Dallas, TX and this role requires the ability to be present in the office at least three days per week.

Requirements

  • Experience as BI/Analytics Director at a high growth company with a proven track record of high impact.
  • Track-record of building and leading highly effective BI teams with a customer service and partnering mindset.
  • Experience building strong stakeholder relationships across departments.
  • Depth of experience selecting and implementing suitable technology for efficient data loading, governance and reporting capabilities required.
  • Experience in building at a metrics-driven company (especially Private Equity owned and/or in a franchise model) is ideal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align BI initiatives with business objectives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a focus on understanding and communicating the company’s core business.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, Redshift, QuickSight or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ELT processes.
  • Experience in data visualization and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ITGCs) and data security best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations as it pertains to the BI/data deliverables and foundations.
  • Set and balance multiple priorities.
  • Work across the organization to get buy-in from the whole team on important initiatives and holds people accountable for results.
  • Present effectively and persuasively with composure, building trust and credibility with various audiences.
  • Collaborate and openly debate with the team to manage projects, solve problems, discuss challenging issues or learn more about critical issues as a group.
  • Periodically review team progress against plans, focusing attention beyond the project to the full year and beyond.
