About The Position

The Rittenhouse Hotel, a prestigious five-diamond luxury hotel in Downtown Philadelphia, is seeking a Director of Business and Leisure Travel. This role is responsible for analyzing market trends and travel patterns to ensure corporate and leisure accounts meet or exceed revenue expectations and customer satisfaction. The position involves developing and implementing special B2B packages, using professional sales techniques to negotiate terms, managing accounts, coordinating departmental participation in servicing accounts, and maintaining hotel relationships with key accounts. The role also includes developing and conducting sales presentations, articulating hotel benefits, traveling locally to promote the hotel and review competition, representing the hotel at trade shows, and following sustainability guidelines. This is an opportunity for growth within HHM Hotels, with a potential career path from Director of Sales to Area Director of Sales and Regional Director of Sales.

Requirements

  • 5 years of leisure sales experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate travel procurement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends and travel patterns to ensure that all corporate and leisure accounts meet or exceed revenue expectations and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for meeting budgeted goals in both segments.
  • Develop and implement, in conjunction with sales and revenue management, special B2B packages and create new offers within guidelines.
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
  • Manage accounts ensuring pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
  • Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
  • Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Articulate and leverage the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities.
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
