The Director of Benefits advises and serves in the development and execution of short-term and long-range plans based on broad corporate goals, acquisitions, strategic planning, and growth objectives. This role involves evaluating and analyzing the results of programs and services regularly and systematically, reporting these results to the Chief People Officer, and providing other management reporting such as benefit loss and claims control, sales, budgets, division P&L, and special projects. The Director of Benefits reviews and analyzes benefits to determine employee needs, trends, regulations, and practices, assisting in developing competitive programs and services to meet company goals. This position also involves completing monthly reviews and audits of all medical, dental, vision, and voluntary invoices for company entities, preparing and distributing information to employees about benefit programs, and administering various benefit-related processes such as COBRA, Qualified Medical Child Support Orders, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, payroll 401K contributions and loan payments, and claims for voluntary and life accident & death. Additionally, the role tracks benefit contributions owed due to employee FMLA and LOA, handles benefit continuation issues related to FMLA and LOA, assists outside auditors with the annual 401K audit, performs annual 401K non-discrimination testing, works with the Benefits Broker for census reports and audit/renewal data, collaborates with providers for annual ACA filings and 1095/1094 production, works with UKG and Consultants for the annual OE system build, and assists employees with annual open enrollment questions and problems. The Director of Benefits also handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution, and complies with all Internal Controls, Company, departmental, and safety policies, procedures, and regulations, utilizing proper conduct and professionalism in compliance with company standards.
