Requirements

  • Experienced with 5 or more years in a quality driven Banquet leadership position preferred.
  • Experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher is highly desired.
  • Experience with high-end social function, elaborate weddings, and curated meetings preferred.
  • High level of organization, creative, and functional thought process with workflow required.
  • Excellent command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • Payroll Programs preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the Banquet team including captains, servers, lead houseman, and houseman.
  • Manage the staffing, training, and day-to-day activities of the banquets team.
  • Walk-through and supervise the daily operations of the Banquet area to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure that rooms are setup and service delivery is conducted in accordance with the guest’s expectations and Banquet Event Orders.
  • Respond to any task assigned by Senior Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for collection of payment for banquet events and requisition of daily functions and billing.
  • Develop standards of productivity for food & beverage personnel within the department.
  • Ensure proper departmental and inter-departmental communication is maintained.
  • Review all written communication to determine appropriate staffing levels, room/station assignments, buffet décor and enhancements as they relate to banquets and meeting room set-ups.
  • Responsible for maintaining a strong guest relationship and ensuring that all meeting specifications are communicated to and executed by all hotel operating departments making for a successful meeting experience for the meeting planner and attendees.
  • Calculate and prepare the daily service charges and payroll ensuring accurate, prompt reporting to the Accounting Department.
  • Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications.
