About The Position

The Director of Asset Management is responsible for the day-to-day management of the department and the financial and regulatory oversight of an 800+ multifamily housing property portfolio with 22,000+ units statewide. This role involves supervising staff, managing a significant property portfolio, engaging with partners, overseeing program design and compliance, and contributing to the agency's leadership team.

Requirements

  • Appropriate education and six years of experience in business or public sector administration and project management; or a combination of ten years of experience, training, and education in a leadership role, and four years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop staff, providing guidance, conducting coaching sessions, developing goals, and determining training needs.
  • Manage the multifamily property portfolio, including processing federal rental assistance subsidies, administering Low Income Housing Tax Credit compliance, processing workouts and liquidation actions, maintaining program compliance with Federal HOME Program and Tax-Exempt Bond rules, collaborating with industry trade groups, and overseeing property inspection and reporting protocols.
  • Engage with partners by establishing and maintaining strong relationships, collaborating to address shared goals, and seeking feedback on program effectiveness.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of department programs, rules, regulations, and procedural handbooks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contracts, including government funding agreements, coordinating with funding and regulatory bodies, overseeing monitoring of program services, evaluating program impact, and identifying new funding sources.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and coordination of department database systems.
  • Serve on the agency’s Leadership Team with other department directors.
  • Oversee the annual department operating budget, including financial goals and allocation of program resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
